Workforce Development in the Capital Region
Educating and developing a workforce for heat pump technology is critical to deploying the technology. That’s why the HeatSmart Capital Region campaign will be presenting information on clean heating and cooling (CH&C) technology and related campaign initiatives to college classrooms, schools organizations and at HVAC companies in the Capital District. These presentations will encourage students and traditional HVAC installers to pursue CH&C training opportunities developed through the campaign. Each presentation will explain CH&C technology, as well as the considerable need and opportunities for qualified trained workers. By expressing the expected growth of the CH&C field and the need for a trained workforce, we are hoping to inspire students to become interested in pursuing careers in CH&C technologies.
At the end of the promotional presentations the group will be invited to some awesome opportunities to learn more, including a speed networking event in which students and prospective employees can speak with heat pump installers.
HeatSmart Capital Region is giving away 25 free registrations to NY-GEO, which takes place April 14-15, 2021. To apply for the scholarship, click here. Applications will be reviewed starting in the spring on 2021.
Our workforce development program will also provide opportunities for free certified training in the installation of ground source and air source heat pumps.
